- A Scene with a Pair of Lovers and Children Playing by the Waterside
- Artist
- William Etty
- Physical Description
- A light sketch drawing of a scene full of activity. Towards the center of the piece is a pair of lovers in embrace. All around them are nude figures, identified as children, playing by the water. Some are fishing, others are in a boat, and the remainder are either swimming of reclining by the water's side. Below these figures is a study drawing of a person's profile angled to the left, while above the scene is a more detailed study drawing of a young boy's head.

- A Sunset in Ireland
- Artist
- Sir Francis Seymour Haden
- Physical Description
- A river starts at the bottom of the composition, taking up the foreground, and then winds back into the middle of the composition. A tree on the left bank of the river hangs down over the edge, its leaves almost touching the water. Reflections of the trees and banks can be seen along the edges of the river. In the background is a more heavily wooded area, and some birds can be seen in the sky. One bird is located in the middle of the sky, while a cluster of faintly depicted birds can be seen on the right. The edges of the composition mostly fade into simple hatching and line work, especially along the banks of the river in the bottom corners of the page, and where the trees meet the edges of the page on the left and right.

- Ancona with a View of the Arch of Trajan
- Artist
- Samuel Prout
- Physical Description
- This small watercolor shows the view of an arch by a city waterfront. A wall closes off the left side of the street leading up to the arch, and creates a powerful sense of recession into space leading from the foreground to the monument in the middle distance. Scattered figures inhabit the street. Beyond the arch may be glimpsed the waters of a bay and a hill rising above the far shore.

- Architectural ceiling boss with four faces, probably from the Church of St. Andrew at Cullompton
- Artist
- Artist Unknown, England
- Physical Description
- This ceiling boss features four faces with traces of paint that are arranged in a radial pattern with the crowns of their heads converging on a single, central point. Two of the faces are female, identifiable by the wimples worn on their heads, while the other two, wearing small pointed caps and sporting beards, are male. The symmetrical regularity of the piece is counterbalanced by subtle asymmetries introduced by differences in detail and the sequence of facial types.

- Belan House, County Kildare
- Artist
- William Ashford
- Physical Description
- Painting shows a large country estate house. Situated in the middle distance, the house angles into space. At the near end is a dovecotte and at the furthest point is an arcade attaching the main house to another building that is obscured by trees. The foreground is framed by trees on either side, the lefthand tree is partially dead. At center in the foreground is an elegant party in a boat on a small lake. This group consists of two women and a man, hand outstretched indicating the scene of the house in the distance. In addition, two men in vests are also part of the group in the boat, one of whom is seated, the other is propelling the boat with an oar. Swans, with wings extended behind them, also grace the surface of the water.
