A series of cascades descend from this structure and lead into a pool of water decorated with a series of geyser fountains spouting water upward. Many small groups of figures in elegant costumes are gathered around the water. Their costumes appear to be hand painted in pink, blue, white and black wash. The upper third of the image is devoted to the dark night sky.

- A miniature sculpture of a the Tibetan yogin Milarepa as a rotund figure, seated in lalitasana (the posture of royal ease, with one knee drawn up and the other relaxed) on an antelope skin (the head of the antelope can be discerned just under the figure's left foot, as an incised design). The right hand is raised, cusping the right ear as though to better hear, while the left elbow rests on the left knee, and the right hand holds a nettle-shell bowl. Wrapped around his torso, from his right shoulder to his left knee, is a sash (sometimes referred to as a meditation belt), which allows him to keep his body upright during long hours of meditation. The base, cast in a single piece with the figure, is decorated with beading and a single band of lotus petals.

In the middle tier, there is a nude man with long hair, a kneeling woman and a figure who is half-man and half-serpent. In the bottom tier, there are two kneeling men, wearing robes and headdresses, with hands pressed together and eyes gazing upward toward the main figure. They are surrounded by a tiger, a bird, an insect and a serpent.

- The drawing is mounted on an album page of a yellowish color flecked with gold. There is a narrow frame in a slighter lighter tone outlined with gold and red lines. The main figure sits facing the viewer and is in a long robe. An emaciated, nearly nude figure faces him squatting with his hand on one knee. Another ascetic stands and offers obeisance to the master. One dog rolls around in front of him and another on a leash walks behind him. There is a clump of bushes to the lower left and a tree to the upper left tops a diagonal leading down to the right with a large group of twisted trees.
