Physical Description

Physical Description
This cup is fashioned from a coconut shell set in a shallow bowl supported on a long, narrow stem and held in place by three straps and a tall neck band. The shallow domed lid has a plain, overhanging rim and terminates in a finial with a statuette of a nude sea nymph and serpent. The metalwork is densely decorated with various masks, animals, fantastic creatures, and vegetal ornament.

The celadon cup has a mildly inverted rim with curved sides that are bent once, at a sharp angle, near the base. The surface is coated with a greenish blue glaze. The slightly inward-turning mouth facilitates drinking while the sides curve gently toward the base.

Physical Description
A very small cup of a rounded shape with a slightly everted rim, standing on a relatively high, straight foot. The exterior of the bowl is decorated in two horizontal registers with geometric and abstracted natural motifs drawn with a very free hand in cobalt blue pigment, before a white glaze was applied to the whole cup. The interior of the foot is glazed brown.

This vessel consists of a cup with an outward-flaring mouth supported on an inverted V-shaped pedestal foot. A single oval-shaped handle is attached to the underside of the cup. The pedestal foot is decorated with four vertical rectangular perforations. Immediately below this is a pair of thin horizontal ridges, which also encircle the body of the cup.

The vessel has one loop handle attached to the side, a long pouring spout with a U-shaped channel on one side balanced by a pointed tail on the other, and a pair of capped finials rise from the rim. The piece has a rich green patina and minimal surface decoration.
