It is a long, rectangular unglazed ceramic piece, intended to be shown in horizontal position. Two thick slabs are connected with bridges inside. The front part has almost flat surface; there is a deep cut on the left side, in which mass of worm-like inner surface can be seen. The same surface is revealed in the middle, as well as on the right edge. The top of the slab has a several shallow holes and one deep cut, inside of which has worm-like surface, as explained above. There is also a dent on the top and on the right, from which worm-like mass seems to be coming out. Reddish shadows cast on left side, in the middle, and the right. There is a patch of clay on left side near the left cut. The bottom is flat.

Sundays are indicated with red numbers and purple boxes, while the rest of the calendar days sit in red boxes with the numbered date showing as paper through negative space. Physical Description
The daibutsu, or giant buddha, statue takes up the bulk of the pictorial space. Curving upwards and towards the statue is a large pine. At the feet of the green hued daibutsu statue are three women of different generations: a young girl, an adult woman, and an elderly woman. Although a few clouds hover in the sky, the sun appears to be shining brightly, casting some shadows of nearby trees into the picture.

The vase uses Shigaraki clay and the wood-firing process. The deformities and imperfections are intentional, and in Iga style. It has a lopsided lip edge at the top, with a deep indentation circling the vase just below it. The texture of this piece is splotchy and ridged, and the colors are earth tones, ranging from tans to dark, forest greens.

Physical Description
It is a medium size porcelain vase with pomegranate design in blue underglaze. The body is round with gentle shoulders; the mouth is wide and the neck is short and slightly inward. It has no foot. The pomegranate fruit and leaves are quickly executed with broad brush around the shoulder and the middle of the body. There is a band of a single line around the mouth and another around near the bottom. There is the artist’s signature “yû” on the eye. There is no foot but unglazed ring around the bottom; the eye is glazed.

Physical Description
A rectangular shaped plate with eight circular patterns. The rim is slightly flared out to create the concave shape. The top surface is unglazed, scorched to an intense red. The bottom does not have foot. In the kiln, the thick clay slabs were stacked close together so that the floating ash landed on the edge of the plate facing the flame. The circular patterns are areas that were protected from the flame by cylinder clay spacers.

This is an unglazed stoneware bizen jar fired in a wood-burning kiln.
It has a hard, smooth surface with decorative incisions near the top of the jar. The lower portion has effect of color gradation of reds and browns. The lid seems to dip into the jar, and has a know handle. The entire piece is not perfectly formed, but has an organic aesthetic.

Physical Description
The obi is made of plain silk, on which beige and brown stripes are pattern-dyed. Scrolls of exotic flowers and leaves are hand painted with orange and black color, and embroidered with metallic threads. These plant designs are located on two parts of the obi; when wearing, one will appear in front, and other will appear on the back bow. There is a hand-painted artist’s seal of Chinese character “moon” on one end of the obi.
