- This is a silver-plated sander with a s-shaped handle. It has a circular base that narrows at the top. The lid has a beaded decoration on the rim and small holes.
- Subject Matter
- The sander held powdered gum sandarac, a fine sand which was sprinkled on unglazed paper to prevent smearing. The sand would be poured back once the ink was dry, ready for reuse.
