Gold-toned metal with inlaid stone (pietra dura) design on face, cut-out iris on reverse,
Subject Matter
The iris is a German iris, not Japanese, and the worksmanship is not Japanese. This was probably a brooch imported and converted into an obidome. Obidome were very popular in the Taisho and early Showa periods.
