- In this Dadaist piece, created by Georges Braque while working with poet Tristan Tzara, a flower emerges from several puddles of ink, which resemble the buds of other plants. Behind the foremost bud and the flower itself, a light blue shadow exists, mimicking the form of the surrounding plants.
- Subject Matter
- Working with Dada poet and artist Tristan Tzara, Braque created this etching in 1955. The piece is that of a flower which breaks away from tradtional rules of composition, an inky quality taking over the plant.
