- Physical Description
- A nude model sits against a cabinet reading. She is shown largely in profile; her head, wraped in a scarf, looks down at the book she holds. She faces left and her left leg is crossed over the right. Behind her on the cabinet are objects including fabric.
- Subject Matter
- The model for this figure is probably one of the Pettigrew sisters and the composition is very closely related to a pastel in the Fogg, "The Fortune Teller--A Red Note", 1886.
