On motion of Mr. Stoughton, of Alabama, the following resolution was adopted: Resolved, That the Executive Committee be requested to present to the Association a revision of the constitution, and also to consider and report upon any suggestions for reorganization. On motion adjourned. Attest: JOHN BIRKINBINE, Secretary. THE Iron Age has compiled an estimate of the production of pig-iron in 1888, as follows: Anthracite pig iron, 1,784,429 gross tons, coke pig-iron, 4,198,755 gross tons; the amount of mineral fuel iron being, 5,983,184 gross tons, to which must be added at least 530,000 gross tons of charcoal iron, making the unprecedented total of over 6,500,000 gross tons as the product of the United States for 1888. THE Canadian Mining Review gives the total output of the phosphate mines of Canada in 1888 as 23,290 tons. of which 75 per cent. was taken from the Du Lievre district, of this amount 2,814 tons were exported to the United States and 14,432 were shipped to Europe, chiefly to Great Britain and Germany.
