Statemnent " C " shows that the bills payable and loans outstanding Novemiber 30th, 1866, amounted to $373,668 63, as follows: Bills payable, matured and in course of adjustment.............$84888 98 Bills payable, issued to city of New Orleans (in lieu of small issue of the Company, redeemed by said city), matur ing in 1867-8-9..................................... 67,522 50 Bills payable, issued to sundry parties, maturing in 1867 1,000 00 Bills payable of paymaster, issued in 1861, and supposed to be lost.....................................257 15 Chickasaw School Fund of Mississippi 200,000 00 Three per cent. Fund of Mississippi........................ 20,000 00 $373,66(8 63 The freight and passenger earnings for the year ending November 30th, 1866, amount to $1,51'7,713 51, as follows: Freight-, $1,090,953 02; passe(ngers $426,760 49; to wvhich must be added, for transportation of U. S. mail, $15,329 02, which does not, however, represent the earnings of the Company for transportation of mails. The IT. S. Government has paid that amount on account, while the actual earnings are supposed to be, for the year, $20,000 or $100 per mile per annlum. N,o definite contract has yet been effected with the Government for this service. Statement "D" gives the disposition of 3000 First Mortgage Bonds of the Company, which has not changed since our last report. It also gives statemeent of the disposition of 3000 Second Mortgage Bonds of the Company, of $1000 each, as follows: Balance of account- sold.................................. $241,000 00 In hands of Company's agents.............................. 143,000 00 Pledged as security for Company's notes.................... 68,000 00 On hand in New Orleans.................................. 548,000 00 Bonds canceled and destroyed, as per agreement with First Mortgage Bondholders.............................. 1,500,000 00 $2,500,000 00 Statement " E " gives the floating and bonded debt of the Comipany on 30th November, 1866, as follows: First and Second Mortgage Bonds......................... $2,982,000 00 Accrued interest on First Mortgage Bonds, in course of being funded in second series Mortgage Bonds.............. 1,017,160 00 $3,999,160 00 Bills payable and sundry other items..................... $724,390 13 The decrease of the floating debt since the last Report to the Legislature is as follows: On 30th November, 1805, that debt was....... $1,579,015 83 Deduct coupons which are in course of.......... being funded.......................... 669,843 98 .$669,843 98 Add interest on Chickasaw Fund (omnitted in the statement).............................. 48,00000 $717,843 98 $717,843 98
