Indeed we are afraid it may seem to border on arrogance,that we should have ventured to take any exception to the works of a venerable theologian and noble scholar, who is perhaps the most celebrated professor of Germany, and whose works we never open without instruction and delight. But however sincere our feeling of all this may be, the duty of pointing out error, according to the measure of our ability, is imperative.
