propriety of establishing a system of Colportage in
Sweden.

Before speaking of the manner in which this recommendation of the Committee was carried out,
we will give some extracts from another letter from
Sweden, written at this period. They show the
progress of the work and the earnest desire for the
return of Mr. Wiberg to Sweden.
"STOCKHOLM, Jan. 6, 1855.
" Dear Brother Wiberg:-Your labor here is very
important. They are writing and speaking against
the Baptists all over the land. Your book on Baptism, lately published in America, is mentioned in
the newspapers, and the people warned not to read
it when it comes. Our adversaries are anxious to
get it beforehand, in order to refute it before we
can get hold of it. This shows how zealous they
are against us. As soon as you return, I hope you
will publish a religious paper, in which you may,
with the words of truth, enlighten the gainsayers,
and make our brethren more stedfast in the faith.
For that purpose, I myself am determined to give
seven hundred and fifty rix-dollars as soon as you
arrive. Now my entreaty is that you would write
