Pass, a pine was discovered very nearly related to the yellow pine of this country, (P. br chyptera,). but the cone is larger and more cylindric; the scales' armed with a' strong recurved spine; the leaves longer, regularly in threes, and with a longer sheath-. A very good figure was made of this pine by our artist) M611ohausen. It is a large tree, With a lighter-colored bark than the P. brachyptera, and fully as valuable for its tirmber.
