I have received your Favor of January 18.th and
have delivered the one inclosed to Doctor Duffield.
The Speech of the King{ of Engl.d to his Parlliament,
and the narraltive of Brigladier MIorglanii's Success shall be
inclosed for your Informnation at the latter you must rejoice with Fea:r. It was il itself the most compleat
action of this Walr, but I do not forsee adequate Consequences. Our Army there is no mlatch for Cornwallis,
and if lhe pushes suddenly he will ruin Gen.' Green, who
fiom dire necessity has been obliged to conduct himself
by Detachments one of which being rltiined the whole will
probably be involved in the Fortune; But if he had the
6000 he wants he could not feed them together. As to
the Kinl of Elgland's Speech it may be construed for
War or Peace; for, the otnly Thing that can be gathered
fiom it is that he thinks he has got a Parliament absolutely devoted to his Will. It is that which gives him
more thanC ordinary Satisfaction.
Our ProsLects as to iMloney do not brighten, you may
be assured that 115 were yesterday given for 1 and this
at a Time when every Body complains of the Want of
old Bills. I think much of this Harm arises from the,
Tender Acts of this St-ate. It is supposed that the next
publication of Exchafnge will be at 100. This is the
Story propagated as the foundation of demanldilg upwards
of 100 for 1. But, why should I say any Thiing on this
