Charlestown. I must drop a tear over Bro. AWarren. I
could have wished he had never accepted the AMilitary
Character, not but that he was very capable, but being so
capable in [other] Departments makes his loss greatly
felt. These are dark circumstanlces, but not discotlraging.
I think we are right, theo' ill-deserving. The number
slain on our part much less than first suplposed, not exceeding 60 or 70, while that of the enemy much larger.
Oh, maly our Good God yet preserve us & direct us in
the present most important crisis. Hope you & Lady &c

us. Nicolls conduct has been odd at least. Late at

now moving thear Effects away fiurther back into the
Country and it is tlle Opinion of all that we are in Danger of another visit fionm the Regulars. I do wish if it

that unless they are Remov'd you will loose them. I
delivered two Cows accordincg to your order. I have gott
some people to go on the Island & how the Cornl & potatose & Garden to the halves & I do design, God willing,
to mow what I can. The Cow that was SenLt utl last
Summer to M.'Williams is Calved & the Calf is dead the
