NOTE.-This company was originally recruited at Mercer, by Captain T. S. Strohecker, and
Lieut. Suplee-was organized at Harrisburg, Nov. 1, 1861, as company I. Dec. 20, 1863, the
old members (thirteen in all,) re-enlisted for three years. In compliance with special order,
No. 8, War Department, Washington, D. C., January 5, 1865, the regiment was consolidated
into six companies, which caused the change of the letter of company H to A, I to D, and K
to E. Some of the killed, died, and discharged, of the old company, appear in both the old
and new companies of the regiment.
