A. records were broken by Michigan men, Brooker tied McKowan of the Kansas State Teachers in establishing a new height l of thirteen feet in the pole vault, and Hubbard shattered the broad jump record with a leap of twenty-five feet, two inches. It was the opinion of many throughout the country, that the team representing Michigan on the track, and in the field events, was the greatest group of performers ever assembled at one school. Certainly many of the records established by Coach Farrell's men will stand for some time, and such stars as Isbell, Wittman, Reinke, Hattendorf, Hubbard, Brooker, Smith and Van Orden will be long remembered. i/ SMITH i "Ray" usually divided first. honors in the high jump with t his team mate, McEllven. |i ti iIil Hattendorf gave Reinke a good lead in the last lap of the two-mile relay at Drake University.
