* Student's Directory
Due to the already large and ever increasing size of the University, some sort
of a directory of the faculty and students has become an absolute necessity. For
a few years prior to I908 P. L. Polk and Company published a book intended to
meet this need, but it was never found to be entirely satisfactory.
In I908 Carl Smith and Carl Adams, 'o8, published the first Official Students'
Directory under the supervision of the University Y. M. C. A. This first book was
very similiar in form to the present one although the system of collecting the necessary information has been greatly changed and improved. The control of the book
has also passed from the Y. M. C. A. to the Board in Control of Student Publications.
It has been the earnest desire and endeavor of the present editors to build up a staff
capable of effectively handling the publication of the Directory next fall, as so
frequently in the past the staff has been almost entirely composed of new men.
