42 Washington, Feby 24. 1806. (Monday) Your brother will leave Philadelphia tomorrow for Newyork in order to secure his appointment at the Hospital. When he shall have arranged this, he may if he pleases, return hither with you. Mr. Mumford received a letter from his wife last evening, informing him that she also was almost inclined to travel with you. This will be agreable. You will be companions for each other, both on the journey, and during your stay here. Gurdon is anxious that Madam should come. On Friday a motion was made in the Senate for an adjournment on the 10th March. This however is merely a flourish for the newspapers There is no prospect of a termination of the Sessi- -on sooner at least than the middle of April. And you have a prospect of a month or six weeks residence here. The weather is now unusually fine. Though it is yet February the frogs & birds are be-
