These are some little relief to us in this extravagant
Place.

Genl. Smith and myself occupy the same
Chamber, and are beginning to get our things arran-
-ged so as to be more comfortable than we have hither-
-to been. Our Host and hostess have but newly
entered into this branch of business, and all their beds
and furniture are new. This is a great article of
health and purity, beyond the filthy accomodations
of common boarding houses and Taverns.

Tell Margaret I purpose to write to her.
Make my respects to both our Mothers and the [?] of
our families and friends. And be assured that
no change of place or circumstance will alter the
attachment of your fond & loving Husband
