JONESFIELD TOWNSHIP. This district is watered by the middle branch of Swan creek. The Saginaw Valley & St. Louis railroad runs through sections 25, 26, 27 and 28. The public highway, the only good road inl the township, runs almost parallel with the iron road. West's mill and Green's mill form the manufacturing industries of the district. Tlhe northern portion of Jonesfield may be considered as unsettled. The County Board, at a meeting held March 19, 1873, ordered " that town 12 north, of range 1 east, be and the same is erected into a township, to be called and known by the name of the township of Jonesfield. lThe first annual township meeting thereof shall be held at the s'tool-house of school district number 2, in section 28, on the first Monday in April, 1873, at 9 o'clock A. M., and at said meeting Joel Nevins, Alexander Fales, and Arnold J. West, three electors of said township, shall be the persons wlhose duty it shall be to preside at such meeting."
