C., Wetz J., Wetz R., White Emerson, Whitton Robert L., Winas Alonzo, Winnie C. W., Zilk Charles. THE FIRST CORPS ENGINEERS AND MECHANICS was organized at Marshall, under Col. W. P. Innes, and left for Louisville Dec. 17, 1861. A detachment of this command, under Gen. 0. M. Mitchell, was among the first battalions to enter Bowling Green. The regiment was on duty on the railroads between Nashville and Chattanooga, Nashville and Columbia, Corinth and Decatur, Huntsville and Stevenson, Memphis and Charleston, and Nashville and Louisville.
