DISTURBANCES OF WAR ISSUES The various wars which have agitated the state since Oakland county was organized have caused political disturbances to a more or less degree. The Civil war was the only event of that kind, however, which became a real issue. In the cases of the "Toledo war" over the Michigan-Ohio boundary dispute, the home sentiment was unanimous in maintaining the contentions of the home state.
