Within the next decade, as shown f rom. the same source for i89o, the real estate of the county had reached a valuation of $19,o62,o90 and the personal property wvas assessed at $3,937,910. In 1891 the taxes were apportioned as follows: State tax, $37,821.19; county tax, $4I,000. In igoo the real estate, as equalized, amounted to $22,084,805 and the personal property, as assessed at $6,695,778; total, $28,740,583. The committee on ways and means apportioned the taxes thus: State, $78,961.56; county, $35,000.
