ACKNOWLEDGMENT.
In compiling a work of this kind, where the co-operation
and unpaid assistance of a number of persons are absolutely necessary to produce a book such as this, it is. right and fitting that the
publisher should make some sort of acknowledgment of the kind
and unselfish aid extended by such persons. And the publisher
