These so closely resembled actual negotiations that Hanan Ashrawi, a major Palestinian negotiator and who was active in the Palestinian feminist anti-occupation movement, remarked that, after her participation in the conference, she felt as if the Oslo process "seemed like a glorified replay in slow motion" of the negotiated meetings the feminist anti-occupation movement had been having for years (Ashrawi 1995: 62).
