Incumbent is brother-in-law to Gov. Morton & this morning Sec. of Interior brings a reappointment commission.

[1]   AES, DNA NR RG 48, Department of Interior, Appointments, Indian Agencies, Box 70. Lincoln's endorsement appears on a letter from James H. Lane, Sidney Clarke, and Samuel J. Crawford, March 7, 1865, recommending Phillip C. Schuyler of Burlingame, Kansas, for agent of the Sac and Fox Indians. Henry W. Martin was reappointed to the agency.
