Chaplain Fitzgibbon yesterday sent me a dispatch invoking clemency for Jackson Stewart and Randall who are to be shot today The dispatch is so vague that there is no means here of ascertaining, whether or not the execution of sentence of one or more of them may not already have been ordered. If not suspend execution of sentence in their cases until further orders and forward records of trails for examination. A. LINCOLN
