Davis of Ridge Farm, who is ``on his way to Washington to obtain, if possible, some relief for the Society of Friends of Ellwood Township. The township is unable to raise sufficient funds, without the aid of the `Friends' to obtain volunteers to fill their quota, and the `Friends' are not only conscientiously opposed to bearing arms, but they are opposed to voluntarily furnishing money to pay others . . .''
