On June 29 Senator Conness moved that Lincoln's message be printed and the motion was referred to the committee on printing (Senate Journal, p. 683). No further reference has been found. The resolution of May 16 requested ``any correspondence received from the United States consuls at Panama and Aspinwall, New Granada, in relation to abuse and maltreatment of passengers, seamen, firemen, &c., on board steamships plying between New York and Aspinwall.''
