[1]   AES, IHi Lincoln's endorsement follows an endorsement by Senator Lyman Trumbull on a letter of Paymaster James C. Holbrook, Washington, May 24, 1864, explaining that he needed thirty-days' leave to raise $2,500 to cover a shortage in his accounts, occasioned by loss or theft while paying troops on Red River.
