[1] ALS, RPB; D, DNA WR RG 107, Presidential Telegrams, I, 61. The autograph original does not contain the notation appearing on the bottom of the copy filed in the volume of Presidential telegrams. Governor Morton replied the same day: ``I started one Regiment of one hundred (100) day men yesterday, another today. Shall send one tomorrow, another on Monday, another on Tuesday, another on Wednesday, and another on Thursday. Am organizing and sending forward as rapidly as possible.'' (DLC-RTL).
Governor James T. Lewis replied on May 24: ``Your telegram of twenty first (21st) inst recd I am doing all I can to forward hundred (100) day troops have two Regiments reported full they will be mustered and ready to leave as soon as arms are provided for them Two more Regiments are nearly full hope to be able to give you five Regiments very soon.''
