[1]   ALS, DNA WR RG 107, Presidential Telegrams, I, 41. Mrs. Lincoln telegraphed on April 28: ``We reached here in safety. Hope you are well. Please send me by mail to-day a check for $50 directed to me, care Mr. Warren Leland, Metropolitan Hotel, Tad says are the goats well.'' (Katherine Helm, Mary, Wife of Lincoln, p. 239).
