This is to show that Henry R. Greene Esq of Illinois is an upright, honorable and worthy man. I have known him and his family for many years.

Mr Greene goes to New Orleans intending to establish himself in some business there. For several years before the commencement of the Rebellion, he spent his winters there and is acquainted with the customs of the South.

I hope the various commanders, agents and employees of the Government will extend to Mr Greene such aid and facilities as are2Open page proper and consistent with the interests of the service.
