Jefferson City, My [sic] Nov. 13. 1863
Yours saying Brown and Henderson are elected Senators, is received. I understand, this is one and one. If so, it is knocking heads together to some purpose. A. LINCOLN
Annotation
[1] ALS, RPB. Lincoln's telegram is addressed to ``E. H. & E. Jameson,'' because the following telegram received from Jameson on November 13 was incorrectly transmitted: ``The radicals of Missouri have elected B. Gratz Brown & John B. Henderson U.S. Senators.'' (DLC-RTL). E. H. E. Jameson was a member of the state legislature from St. Louis.
