[1] ALS-F, ISLA. General Sedgwick's telegram in reply was received at 8 P.M.: ``Your dispatch directing the suspension of the execution of the sentence in the case of Private James Lane of Co B. 71st N.Y. Vols received.'' (DLC-RTL). Private James Lane's sentence for desertion was commuted to imprisonment along with numerous others on April 18, 1864, under the order of February 26, 1864.
