[1] ALS, RPB. See Lincoln to Burnside, December 26, supra. Burnside's telegram of December 29 was received at 8 P.M.: ``The necessary papers in the case of Private Eaton & Burrows of the Sixth . . . New Hampshire can be made out after my arrival in Washn. Am I authorized to telegraph to the Commanding Officer that the sentence will not be carried into effect?
