Judge Advocate General please examine and report upon this case.

A. LINCOLN

Sep. 10. 1864

Annotation

[1]   AES, DNA WR RG 153, Judge Advocate General, MM 1335. Lincoln's endorsement appears on a letter from the wife of J. W. Boucher, citizen of the District of Columbia, sentenced to one year in prison for violation of laws and customs of war. On September 17 Lincoln pardoned Boucher for the last six months of the sentence, but the endorsement of that date has been torn from the record.
