[1] AES, owned by R. E. Burdick, New York City. Lincoln's endorsement is written on a letter from Ezekiel C. Moore, president, and Edward B. Knight, clerk, Mullica Hill, New Jersey, August 25, 1864: ``The quota of Harrison Township is largely in excess of sixteen per cent which is the per centage under which the quotas have been calculated. There is not a more loyal county in the Union than Gloucester County and its people are willing to bear all the burdens & perform all the duties which belong to us in prosecuting a most righteous war. But our people think the law in its operation bears heavily on our township & County & district & we respectfully request that you will grant us any relief that may be in your power.''
