[1]   ALS, DNA WR RG 107, Presidential Telegrams, I, 119. Senator Morgan replied the same day, ``I will leave for Washington on the first train.'' (DLC-RTL). The urgency of Lincoln's message is not clear, but as chairman of the Union Party Executive Congressional Committee Morgan was probably consulted in regard to the pressing campaign or patronage problems.
