his execution. Please answer, telling me whether this statement is correct, and also if an order shall come to you for his execution, notify me of it at once by telegraph. A. LINCOLN.

Major Herman Kretz commanding at Cumberland, replied on September 27, 1863, ``I have recd orders from the Commanding Genl of this department to turn over to his regt private Dennis McCarty of---`B' Co 23d.
