[1]   ALS, IHi. Mrs. Lincoln telegraphed the White House doorman, Edward McManus, on September 21, 1863: ``Go to Col. McCullum [Daniel C. McCallum, director of military railroads] and ask him to send the green car on to Philadelphia for me and make arrangements for a special car from New York to Philadelphia. Send me a reply immediately.'' (Katherine Helm, Mary, Wife of Lincoln, pp. 214-15).
