Annotation

[1]   ALS, RPB. James G. Blaine, chairman of the Maine Union Committee, telegraphed on September 14: ``Maine sustains your administration by a majority of 15000.'' (DLC-RTL). On September 15 he telegraphed again: ``Fuller returns magnify our victory. Indications now are that we have carried every County in the State. Elected every Senator Secured seven eighths $$$ of the Representatives and rolled up a Majority of twenty thousand (20 000) out of a total vote of one hundred thousand (100 000)'' (ibid.).
