The father Lieut A. S. Eddy, a personal acquaintance of mine, is here saying his son has been in arrest for several months.

Genl. Orme, in the West has more than once asked to have the Lieut. on his Staff.

Please have the case looked up, and let us see if there is not a better use to put him to, than, keeping him in arrest. I have reason to believe, he is a gallant young officer Yours truly
