[1] AES, DNA WR RG 94, U.S. Military Academy, 1863, Box 82, No. 170. Lincoln's endorsement is written on a letter from Assistant Adjutant General David C. Wager, August 26, 1863, requesting that ``the name of Barnet Wager of New York may be added to the list of appointments of cadets to West Point in place of Charles Hoskin whose name . . . has been withdrawn.'' Stanton endorsed, ``Approved & Apt ordered.'' Barnet Wager entered West Point in 1863 and graduated in 1867.
