[1] AES, DLC-RTL. Lincoln's somewhat incoherent endorsement is written on the back of his letter to Stanton concerning Singleton Wilson, August 19, supra. Bates replied on August 26, ``I have nothing to say against the views of the case taken by Genl. Hitchcock & the Secretary of War.'' (DLC-RTL).
