[1] ALS, RPB. General Foster's reply was received at 5:33 P.M.: ``Your orders will be strictly obeyed The trial is concluded. Gen [James] Naglee informs me that the proceedings findings & sentence have been forwarded to you for your revision and approval.'' (DLC-RTL). Dr. David M. Wright of Norfolk, Virginia, shot and killed Second Lieutenant Anson L. Sanborn of the First U.S. Colored Volunteers, who was marching at the head of his company on Main Street in Norfolk, July 11, 1863. Convicted of murder, Wright was executed on October 23.
