King of Denmark

Great and Good Friend: I have received the letter which Your Majesty was pleased to address to me on the 7th instant conveying the melancholy tidings of the demise on the 29th ultimo of His Royal Hig[h]ness the Hereditary Prince Frederick Ferdinand, of Denmark, Your Majesty's beloved Uncle.

I participate in the grief occasioned by this sad event, and offer to Your Majesty and to Your Majesty's Royal Family my sincere condolence
