[1]   ALS, RPB. This telegram is written in pencil on a slip of lined paper pasted on the bottom of the following telegram from Mrs. Lincoln, received from New York at 6 P.M. on July 28, addressed to Edward McManus, doorkeeper and messenger at the White House: ``Did Robert leave this morning for New York. I hope the President is well Answer this immediately.''
