[1] AES, DNA WR RG 153, Judge Advocate General, MM 187. Lincoln's endorsement is written on the court-martial record of Lieutenant Adelbert S. Eddy, Fourth New York Heavy Artillery, dismissed from service for absence without leave and neglect of duty. Generals Abercrombie and Heintzelman recommended the commutation as given by Lincoln.
